History
1973
INAPAL Lda was founded in 1973 to produce components for the Automotive Industry, for bumpers in particular.
1980/1990
With the installation of the Renault Project in Portugal in the early ’80s, the company converted its production lines, providing its unit stamping capacity and technology for the manufacture of Valve Covers to the factory in Cacia. At the same time, INAPAL invests in a new technological area, for the manufacture of bumpers and side shields in composite materials. Subsequently, the company is based on a group concept, separating its activities (metal and plastics) into legally independent companies, which originated the creation of INAPAL Metal SA and INAPAL Plásticos SA.
1999
Thousands of parts are produced daily in our presses whether by transfer or progressive processes with the possibility of including on press riveting processes of nuts and bolts.
To be able to respond to the requests of our customers, INAPAL Metal has a variety of presses with different dimensions and tonnages, providing our customers with small, medium-size parts as well as the stamping of medium / large size parts.
Our presses range from 200 to 2200 Tons, through progressive or Transfer processes, covering a wide range of materials with thicknesses up to 4.5 mm, including High Strength Steels.
2001 – 2003
Installation of a new range of presses from 300 Ton to 600 Ton.
2003
Expansion of the factory area in 4,000 m².
2004
INAPAL Metal obtains ISO / TS 16949 certification - Quality Management System - Specific requirements for the application of ISO 9001 for organizations involved in the production, service or accessories of the automotive industry.
2005
Obtains certification according to NP EN ISO 14001 - Environmental Management System.
2006
Installation of the new Fagor 1,200 Ton transfer press.
2008
Due to the closure of a factory of one of our main customers, all the production lines of welding and riveting assemblies were transferred to a new 1,000 m² production unit resulting in the creation of 100 new jobs
2013
Recognizing the importance of Health and Safety for the well-being of its employees, INAPAL Metal has evolved to a new certification according to OHSAS 18001 - "Occupational Safety Management Systems".
2014
Renewal of all welding lines by converting them to robotic processes including spot welding, resistance and MIG processes.
2018
Installation of the new 600 Ton press Weingarten.
Under the Quality and Environment certifications, the transition was made to the new standards, respectively IATF 16949:2016 - "Automotive Quality Management System Standard" and NP EN ISO 14001:2015 - "Environmental management systems - requirements and guidelines for their use".
2019
Acquisition of 10,000 m² Land. Purchasing of a Schuler 2200 Ton press.
2021
Completion of a new 1,000 m² building and start of production of the 2,200 Ton press.
